Mary Stuart, former Queen of Scots, is imprisoned in England, where her very existence poses a threat, both personal and political, to her Protestant cousin, Elizabeth I. As Elizabeth hesitates over decreeing her rival’s fate, Mary pleads for a face-to-face meeting – but in the swirl of intrigue that surrounds both women, whom can either one trust?

Quiara Alegria Hudes’ Pulitzer Prize winning Water by the Spoonful is the second play in a trilogy (Elliott, A Soldier’s Fugue, Water by the Spoonful, The Happiest Song Plays Last) about Elliott Ortiz, a young Puerto Rican marine who served in the second Iraq War.

Seeking a diverse cast of 6 men and 5 women, plus a mixed acting ensemble of singers and musicians for what is arguably the greatest American play of the 20th Century!

Auditions will be held in Stuart theatre:

W, 9/11 4:00-7:30
Th, 9/12 7-10:30
F, 9/13 5:00-7:00
with Callbacks afterwards until 10:00

1. Please read the play. There is a copy available in the Becker (the library on the 3rd floor of Lyman Hall, the theatre building) or you can email the Stage Manager, Jenny, for an electronic copy (jennifer_gorelick@brown.edu).

2. Show up! Sides (pieces from the play for you to audition with) will be provided at auditions. A time slot sign up sheet will be available in the lobby of Leeds Theatre.

Auditions for Lady Windermere's Fan, a satirical comic gem by Oscar Wilde directed by Lowry Marshall will be:

Friday, September 16th
In Stuart Theatre (Entrance off of the Main Green)
1pm - 6pm
and
7pm - 11pm

Callbacks will be Saturday, September 17th
In Stuart Theatre (Entrance still off of the Main Green)
1pm - 6pm

HOW TO PREPARE:
