Come Talk With Us!

Audition for Sock and Buskin's final show of the 2010-2011 season!

We're doing Talk by visiting professor Carl Hancock Rux, directed by our own Erik Ehn.

Representative Image for TALK

Auditions will be held in Lyman 005 on:
Monday, January 31st from 6pm to 10pm
Tuesday, February 1st from 3pm to 6pm AND 7pm to 10pm

Callbacks, if needed, will be held in Lyman 005 on:
Thursday, February 3rd from 7pm to 10pm

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, February 23rd
Tech begins Saturday, April 2nd (THIS IS THE 2ND WEEKEND OF SPRING BREAK)
Performances are April 7-10 and April 14-17

What is talk?

Talk = verbal animation, a rhetorical vibration exloring/exploding i) what and how artists know what they know ii) what audiences know about artists and what artists know iii) how any of us talks about the forces that form our minds and souls and iv) what we really just don't know and cant' say about each other...

Words from Erik (the director) for all you auditioners out there:
"Greetings! Welcome to Talk auditions! All pretty simple. Nothing to prepare... Read the play, pick a character. Audition with just one side (familiarize yourself with it, but you don't have to memorize) - the character you read for will be taken as representative - you'll be put into consideration for various roles. Thanks!"

Sides, incidentally, are currently available in the Becker (the theatre department's library across the hall from Lyman 211).

Email us at for an electronic copy of the script.

((Same information also available at the Facebook Event Page))
